Our small, family-run house is situated in a quiet, sunny location on Kirchboden in Wagrain in the heart of Salzburger Land. It is perfect for relaxation and recreation and the ideal starting point for many activities in the near and far surroundings.
Hiking
Hike playfully, hike far or discover the wonders of nature on various nature trails. All this is possible in Wagrain-Kleinarl. In total you will find around 140 km of natural hiking and walking trails around Wagrain and Kleinarl. Explore the valley crossings to St. Johann or Flachau or the high-altitude hikes to Kleinarl up to the Tappenkarsee, on all trails you are surrounded by dreamlike mountain slopes and alpine pastures. There are also particularly beautiful hiking trails for adventurous families. Afterwards, stop off at one of the managed alpine huts and enjoy the homemade delicacies from Wagrain.
Cycling
All mountain bikers, racing cyclists and e-bikers are just as right with us in Wagrain. Numerous routes with magnificent panoramic views let you spend sporty hours.
Excursions in Wagrain and the surrounding area
The city of Mozart, Salzburg, is only an hour away from Wagrain and therefore the ideal excursion destination during your stay in our valley. The Eisriesenwelt, the Liechtensteinklamm, the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße and other attractions are easy to reach and worthwhile destinations. Directly in our surrounding area you will find the climbing world with flying fox and ropes course in Kleinarl. Active activities for the whole family include soccergolf, paragliding, fishing and much more.
SalzburgerLand Card
f you’re planning a holiday in the SalzburgerLand, you can hardly get around the SalzburgerLand Card. This all-inclusive card gives you free admission for 6 or 12 days to around 180 attractions throughout the province and in the city of Salzburg (or on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road). Many attractions can be visited more than once – thermal baths, mountain railways and some other attractions can be visited once within the 6 or 12 days. Whether it’s to cool off on a hot summer’s day, to warm up on a cold winter’s day, to relax in bad weather or after a long day of hiking: the Wasserwelt Wagrain is always worth a visit. Indoor and outdoor pools, 5 slides and numerous attractions for young and old as well as the cosy family & textile sauna make the water world a place for everyone – young and old.
For guests of the Oberleiten Apartments, admission to the Wasserwelt Wagrain is free of charge!
Gentle mobility on holiday – A holiday from the car. A holiday without a car.
Being on holiday without a car is still hard to imagine for many people. In our holiday region, however, this is totally easy. In summer, the Sportweltbus (“hiking bus”) takes you to the desired starting points of your hikes for only EUR 1.00 per person and direction. E-bikes are a green alternative to the conventional means of transport, with which you can quickly explore the area.
- Sportwelt bus: mobility for only 1 euro per route. You can use the Salzburg Sport World summer bus from May to October, between June and the end of September with a condensed bus service every hour. The summer bus is on the road in the 7 towns of the Salzburg Sport World – Flachau, Wagrain-Kleinarl, St. Johann, Radstadt, Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Eben and Filzmoos – as well as Obertauern, making it an ideal start to your hiking or excursion day, but also perfect as a return and pick-up service. It can also be used for shopping and excursions as far as St. Johann im Pongau. With the Salzburger Sportwelt Card reduced price of EUR 1,- (from 6 years). You can get the guest cards free of charge from your host. Information and timetables are available from your host or from the Wagrain-Kleinarl Tourist Office.
- Local bus: In addition, in summer (01.07. – 10.09.2023) there is a local bus that runs from our district of Kirchboden to Hof (change or boarding point Wagrain Grafenberg). The local bus (Kirchboden – Hof) is free of charge for people with a Wagrain-Kleinarl guest card (provided you do not change to a regular bus).
